Right from the jump, the entrance to the restaurant was confusing since they also had a separate store. When you finally find the right door to walk through, you walk in and it smells like mildew. It gives a “damp cave” atmosphere. Not exactly the welcome mat you’re looking for. Here’s a quick view on what was ordered:
- Appetizer: Chili
- Appetizer: Mac & Cheese
- Main: Honey Hot Chicken Sandwich + Corn
Service Observations
Our server was good. She knew what she was doing, made offers, gave suggestions, and actually checked up on us. She showed some good loyalty to her restaurant. All good on her end.
Food Breakdown: A Parade of Disappointment
Let’s talk about the food. Everything I had was from their “4th of July menu,” which was a weekly special. Unfortunately there was nothing special about it, trust me.
Chili: This chili had a very overpowered cumin taste. It wasn’t meaty, wasn’t beanie – just a blast of cumin. It had an even distribution of ingredients. The cheese on top was the cheap Walmart stuff. It was too watery for my taste. Overall gross and it left me with cumin PTSD.

Mac and Cheese: Extremely bland. Not a single grain of salt or pepper could be detected. I’d rather eat boxed Mac and Cheese. Seriously. Kraft is king in comparison. Took one bite, spit it into my napkin and sent it back.

Corn: Served hot on the outside, but you could literally feel how cold the cob itself was. No seasoning. No butter. Just… cold corn. How do you mess that up?
Chicken Sandwich: This thing was terrible. The “honey hot sauce” was just honey. No heat to it at all. It was dumped everywhere, making a mess. The breading? Not seasoned. The chicken itself? Not seasoned. The chicken’s texture tasted like it was from yesterday, just warmed up in the microwave or something. They are absolutely hiding behind their “sauce” with this one. Hot garbage.

Overall Review and Conclusion
Score: My Experience: 1/10. | Value is non-existent
I felt like my words just fell on deaf ears because I’m not some flashy critic reviewer. Maybe they thought I was just trying to score free food or something. Or maybe they thought I was hate baiting for the clicks or something? I’m not sure, but I had no problem pointing out exactly what I experienced in detail and they just ignored it.
This visit was around 4 PM, and there was only one other customer there. Even if the staff wasn’t the A-team, we’re talking about a chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, corn, and already-made chili. How do you mess up the basics that bad?
When the bill came, I was charged for everything except the corn, even though I sent the chicken sandwich and mac and cheese back. It felt like the server didn’t even know what to do in that situation, probably because the manager was nowhere to be found.
This experience was a complete regret. I’d avoid this place at all cost, I would rather go hungry.
